Timbercreek Event

Another fantastic day of golf was had by all on Saturday May 14th out at Timbercreek Golf Course. After a lite continental breakfast, 24 EWGA women set out to either win our Play Day Game of Putts and Fairways and/or to try to qualify to go on and represent Sacto EWGA at the next PWGA tournament out at Morgan Creek.

The winner of our Play Day Game was Kris Corbridge with only 15 putts and a close second was Charlotte Wells with 16. Great job ladies!!!

Our closest to the hole winners were:
Hole 4 was Karen Biscaha at 10 feet, 5 1/2 inches, awesome job Karen!!!!
Hole 14 was Kris Corbridge at 1 ft,11 inches, phenominal!!!!!

The two teams that qualified to move on to the next PWGA tournament were:
   Karen Biscaha/Sherry Bell
   J
ulia Hadley/Charlotte Wells
Good luck team, go get em and do Sacramento EWGA proud!!!!!!

Swing for the Girls

Bartley Cavanaugh Event

"Was so good to see old friends again out playing golf" was today's motto since this was our first Sacramento EWGA event since the kickoff,  held out at Bartley Cavanaugh on March 10!!  Besides just getting out to play some golf and enjoy some laughs (and a few tears from those of us that lost our balls to the water) we held our first NCGA qualifier.  The teams trying to qualify were:

    Marcia Whiting, Linda Reid,
    Lori Lucius, Laurie Hochmuth

       - coming in a close second place

    Linda DeLong, Carolyn Stull,
    Tillie Melton, Julia Hadley

       - coming in a cool third place

With the winning team being ...
      Sherry Bell, Regina Cortez,
      Kris Handsaker,
      Deb McSherry

    CONGRATS you four, go gettem'
    and do us proud!!!!

Besides the NCGA qualifier, we had a fun day counting Fairways and putts (if you hit the fairway, you can substract that from the amount of putts you had) and the one with the lowest combined score won!  Linda Reid won with a total of 19 !!  Great job Linda!!!!

We also had two closest to the hole contests:  Hole # 8 went to Deb McSherry at 13ft, 7in and Hole # 17 went to Marcia Whiting at 1ft, 10in    WOW, great shot

We all enjoyed some lunch after the event and got caught up on all the news about each other.  Was good to see everyone again and looking forward to another great year of fun events!!!!

2012 Snow Bunny League

The 2012 Snow Bunny League held their last play day on Sunday, March 4th and what a glorious day it was.  Prizes were awarded and the snow bunnies had their photo taken with the head bunny, Carolyn Stull.  This year play was at Davis Golf Course and except for one rainy play day, the weather couldn't have been better.  Now, don't you wish you had played in the Snow Bunny League?

Handicap Tip

Posting Scores
The single most important component of accurate handicapping is for the player to post ALL eligible scores.  Most players have erroneous beliefs as to what scores are postable.  There are VERY FEW instances whereby a score is not eligible for posting. more ...
