Clinics and Lessons
Skill Levels
To help you decide which golfing opportunities best match your playing experiences, we have developed the following skill level descriptions. Look for your number on all clinic and lessons. More advanced players can always participate in less advanced activities. - New Golfer: Never played on a course; may never have held a club.
- Beginner: Completed introductory class/lessons; been on a golf course, but barely.
- Advanced Beginner: Completed some lessons; play 9 holes occasionally and may have played 18 holes a few times.
- Intermediate: May or may not have an established handicap; play with some regularity and know basic rules/etiquette; practice and take lessons from time to time or regularly.
- Advanced: Play regularly; have an index of 25 or less (if handicapped); practice, take lessons and know the rules/etiquette of the game.

Beginning Women Group Lessons
This class consists of 5 lessons at Natomas Golf Center and 1 playing lesson at a local executive golf course. It is perfect for beginners who want to get up and running in a short time and for golfers wanting to review golf fundamentals. Lessons include rules and etiquette, understanding equipment, course layout, how to check in at the course, as well as the full swing, putting, and short game. The student will leave this course with easy-to-understand handouts and other “goodies”. This class meets weekly for 6 weeks. (Skill levels 1,2)

Half-Day Golf School The perfect class for those who are just taking up the wonderful game of golf. Introduction to rules and etiquette, becoming familiar with golf clubs, and getting experience with the full swing. The student will leave this course with a basic understanding of the game, easy-to-understand handouts, and a goodie bag. (Level 1)

Video and 3D Analysis This is an opportunity to view your swing on video and 3D animation. A physical assessment and exercises and drills will be assigned, with individualized DVD provided. The is the best way to take your game to the next level. Jenni is TPI and K vest certified. (Levels 2, 3, 4)

New and Beginning Golfer "Boot Camp" Come out for a great class that will provide students with a thorough understanding of the golf swing for both your short and long shots. The first part of the day covers short game techniques including putting, chipping and pitching. After a lunch break (and some socializing) focus will be on the full swing - grip, posture, etc.. Join other new and beginning golfers in this “boot camp”!!!. (Levels 1,2,3)

Game Improvement Clinic - Short Game Lower your scores by making more accurate shots from 80 yards and in. Our intensive 3-hour clinic for established golfers reviews the fundamentals of chipping, pitching, bunkers, and putting. Developing a consistent pre-shot routine also emphasized. (Levels 4,5)

Game Improvement Clinic - Putting & Chipping Do you keep track of your putts each round? Although putts often make up 40% or more of your entire score, few players spend 40% of their practice time on the putting green! And, how close do your “chips” get to the hole? Attend this clinic and review putting techniques: learn how to read breaks, control speed and distance, and discover great drills for keeping you motivated during practice. Also, learn chipping techniques that will help you get closer to the hole! Enjoy socializing in the “Grill” afterwards. (All Levels)

Game Improvement Clinic - Full Swing If your full swing is less consistent than you’d like, it’s time to join this review of your golf grip, stance, posture and alignment. Also covered are the mechanics of the full swing off the tee and in the fairways and drills for developing a consistent pre-shot routine. (Level 4,5)

Bad Lies Made Easy
Don’t let a bad lie ruin your best round! Here’s an intensive clinic for experienced golfers who want to develop technique and confidence for getting out of trouble. Steve covers unusual situations such as hitting off bare ground, making the best of buried and edgy bunker lies, trees and tall grass, the water’s edge, downhill/sidehill lies, and so forth. (Levels 4,5) Date & Time: Sunday, April 18, 9:00 – 11:00 am Location: Lincoln Hills Fee: $45 members; $55 non-members Class Maximum: 6 players Instructor: Steve Treadway, Master Teaching Professional On Course Evaluation For our experienced players who want to take it “to the next level”. Perhaps your “handicap” is lower on the driving range and you need some guidance on what happens when you “take it to the course”. Discover what’s really going on with your game on the course. Teaching professional Steve Treadway is offering this individualized one-on-one session to our members for a great fee! He will evaluate all elements of your game – tee, fairway, approach, bunker shots and putting. He’ll watch for target awareness, set-up alignment and overall swing mechanics. Steve will spend 2 hours with you while you play about 7 holes, then receive an evaluation when done. (Level 5 only)

Rules & Etiquette Clinic Whether you think you know the rules of golf pretty well, know some of the rules but are generally confused about them, or are completely clueless about the rules, join us for our EWGA exclusive session with rules expert and NCGA Past President John Nakamura. Not just a theory clinic, we go on the academy holes for “real life” situations and rulings. John will help make learning the rules fun and interesting. (Wear casual clothing.) Enjoy socializing together with our instructor at the “Grill” following the clinic. Rulebook included. (All Levels)

Game Improvement Clinic - Sand Bunker Clinic Do you have trouble getting out of sand bunkers? If you would like to get some great tips on how to get out of the sand, this clinic is for you! Straightforward instruction on how to approach these shots. Also everyone will have a chance to hit some shots and get some individualized tips. (Levels 1,2,3,4,5)

Get Golf Ready in 5 Days If you are picking up a golf club either for the first time or returning to the game again, the Get Golf Ready Program is designed to teach you in five short lessons everything you’ll need to know to step onto a golf course and get out to play with confidence. This program will be guided by trained PGA and LPGA Professionals who will make sure you have fun each step of the way. Get Golf Ready is one “step” of five steps offered – the first is “Welcome to Golf”; next is “Get Golf Ready” (and Get Golf Ready II); “Practice Makes Perfect”; and a stress-free Beginner Golf League.

Fitness For Golf Make sure your body is ready to help you play your best golf! Learn what things you can do to maximize your physical fitness for golf. If you want to feel better, enjoy the game more and improve your scores, attend this workshop and get some tips on the physical conditioning that best works for golf. (All levels)
